Graphical Manipulations #56: Snort, Snort, Rort, Rort, Stupidity, Rats, And An Untimely Demise!

As we continue to thrive through what was loudly expressed as A DIRE EMERGENCY without a government in the house urgently passing bills to fix such disasters, we continue to exist in a mainstream media generated strange huffy puff, overblown hyperbole, seriously urgent faced commentator vacuum.  Quite possibly because the NO Coalition has learnt that valuable lesson creatively demonstrated by “Jo’ Bjelke Petersen – throw a few seeds to the chooks, then move quickly away, answering no questions!  It’s a behaviour pattern that Labor would do well to emulate – especially in the area of leakage.

Apart from Tony ‘Jubya’ Abbott’s ASIAN APOLOGIA TRIP where he tried to pour sugar into the salted wounds of insult perpetrated by his ugly bunch, the only other piece of remarkability has been the alleged ‘pigs in the trough’ rorty, rort, rort of politicians doing what they do so well, apparently!  So, in the absence of anything more interesting we’ll stick with that for a bit then go elsewhere (the Labor Leader election comes to mind).

It was particularly illuminating to listen to Jubya and his irrationale justification for all that voter largesse garnered to assist him in his bike riding stunts.  His verbal loquacity, led to this;

Abbott Hair Split

And that, led to thoughts of last week’s alleged new book release and the title for another blockbuster came to mind;

Snuffling of the Hams

Books, hair-splitting and collections of politicians ever ready to stretch the bounds of credibility and heights of ingenuity in extracting moolah from the public purse led to ;

House on the Hill

That then led to thoughts about what was actually happening in the House!  Not a lot, behind a wall of nothingness apparently, which ended up as;

Policy Fog

And then that Rascally Rat put in a late appearance (albeit brief because of the political news paucity) with;

Late Abbott Rat

Also being extremely apologetic of being rather noisy a bit earlier;

Abbot Apology Rat

Finally, the Labor Leadership was determined (or is that pre-determined) by a vote where 85 Caucus members had as much say in the matter as did some 30,000 Labor supporters (mathematics go awry?).  The whole election was conducted in a friendly, comradely way with each way mutual praise from the contenders.  Unortunately one thought just wouldn’t go away;

Labor Contenders

And being a long term Labor supporter, union member and believer in the basic principles of unionism right through the embarrassment of Caldwell to the great days of Whitlam, Hawke, Keating, then to the excruciatingly disgusting, manipulative and debasing behaviour of the power brokers, union hacks and Labor politicians over the past decade culminating in Bill Shorten winning the Leadership ballot led to this;

RIP Labor

The message delivered to Labor supporters by the leadership outcome basically says; Labor remains a tenure track for union hacks, under the influence of various cabals, and a management control system that rewards disloyalty and power play machinations.  It will be interesting to see how you re-engage this now swinging (or is that swingeing?) voter – or if you even bother!  Do we need a NEW CENTRIST PARTY that balances the interests of the People, the Country and the Economy?  Oh yes we do!!  And you’ve already got one vote, and I suspect a lot more who are nauseated by the behaviour and policies of both NO Coalition and Labor!

And there we have it (sans the usual end bit now that it’s all over until the next time or earlier if there’s a double dissolution sometime in the next 12 to 18 months especially of Jubya Abbott gets really pissed off by a recalcitrant and obstructionary Senate or the Indonesian’s don’t invade us for behaving like white supremacist colonialists or Jubya doesn’t have half his cabinet step down because they been playing fast and loose with the government coffers or he doesn’t end up dying from apology exhaustion)!

  4. Yes, it would be nice to see the emergence of a centrist party, and one’s bound to happen sooner or later – sooner if Shorten can’t move the party away from ‘more of the same but slightly different’ tactics and policies that they’ve pursued since the days of the Beazely-Crean-Beazely leadership.

      Absolutely crucial that Labor breaks the influence of the factions and the unions over the operation of the party! The last review gave them the way forward but they just stuck their heads in the sand and refused to see that supporters are becoming increasingly disenfranchised by what is happening with regard to control over the party.
      There are plenty of voters who don’t like the extremes of the NO Coalition and Labor and the Greens and who are more centralist in their views.
      I too, don’t see Labor regaining power next election or having a future should they remain on the same track with the obvious lip service to greater engagement with their supporters.
