The least that can be said about our NO Coalition government is that they continue not to disappoint this little graphical manipulator with their forays into governing Australia into the annals of prehistory. Ever eager to emulate the very best of the very worst of the economic free-marketeering American culture they continue to try to create “the good ole” days when the populace queued for a day’s work, handed to them by those who held the power to give you enough work to put food on the table – or not! One can only look on with awe at the ability of the Australian voter to be conned by such as these.
It’s always exciting to know that we are a nation of forward looking travellers fully aware of the opportunities and threats awaiting us in the future. Or are we?
And to see that amongst the ultra-conservatives there still exists (much to my surprise) a moderate, prepared to put equity before dogma. Admittedly poor Malcolm is still trying to justify his comments to his indignant fellow conservatives who (in the spirit of earlier, and better, days) would see him hung, drawn and quartered;
In regard to your views on Rupert, Malcolm. Whether it was a slip of the mind/tongue thingy, or not, I’d agree with you!
I think it was Anthony Albanese (Labor from somewhere) who said on Q&A something like; “the NO Coalition had a plan to get into government, but no plan to govern” – something like that. I’d add “deceitful” before “plan” Anthony;
It also gave me great pleasure to see that our government also has plans for our young people. Well I guess it’s a tad better than putting them into the military and sending them off to fight some pointless war somewhere at the behest of someone else;
That piece of brilliance, resurrecting one of Howard’s silly ideas, and a brief vision of parliamentary Question Time antics by our illustrious leaders give rise to;
And at that point The Rat came rampaging back with a view of the Hockey;
Some insight into how well George Brandis is handling his role as Attorney General;
The argument that if you put enough minds to work on a problem, you’ll eventually come up with SOMETHING REALLY BRILLIANT;
And with the most peurilely stupid retort in the defence of the indefensible;
Which led to thoughts about our great leader Tony, and what might be exercising that mind of his;
And that little venture into the frighteningly unfathomable led inevitably to;
And there you have it!!
Afterthought: This NO Coalition Government is trashing the good standing of Australia. It cares little about its people in its fanatical pursuit of ultra-conservative ideology. It is using the weapons of minority xenophobia, the secret fears and uncertainty of the general public and blatant propaganda, aided by a complaisant media, to turn this country into something is has never been – bigoted, racist, xenophobic, selfish, self-indulgent, self-obsessed, uncaring and a disgrace to all those things that have made Australia a great country! Tolerance, mateship, community, fairness, honesty and a love of freedom in both speech and expression!
Postscript: All characters appearing in this work are entirely, and amazingly, fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living, dead or in a zombie like state, is purely coincidental with an exceptionally high probability of being the construct of a deluded mind trying to grasp the true meaning of the political unreality of Australian politics, al la NO Coalition! We can only gaze upon such greatness with wonderment!
