Graphical Manipulations #77: Frootloops, Opinionation, Ratty, Political Silliness And A Femme Foetal 50’s!

In the search to find the appropriate graphic for graphically manipulative purposes, we industriously scour the web for the appropriate shot to hang the manipulation upon.  This week didn’t disappoint.  Nor did our conservatives, both political and other.  And over-riding it all was a vague feeling of unease, that we were going backwards to earlier years.  Back to the bellicose threats made by the inconsequential (thank God!). Back to the days of Thatcherism and, ultimately, back to the 50’s.  I must admit that as a 6 to 16 year-old, the 50’s were great for growing up – but I wouldn’t want to go back there.

Sarah Palin leads the pack this week with her timely reinforcement of the reason why conservatives should NEVER be given the reins of power;

Nuke em Palin

And of course Gina Rhinehart (she of the kind-heart, especially to her kinder) reminded us that having lots of money doesn’t make you an intellectual giant, nor a humanitarian one for that matter;

You tell em Gina

The Rat popped in for a quick one, and was promptly kicked out again for pointing out the bleeding obvious (and upsetting Rupert);

Media Ownership Rat

Our Assistant Health Minister Fiona Nash continued to pretend that there had been no wrongdoing and got a serving from Senator Wong;

Snack food Nash

Prime Minister Abbott continued to maintain a bilateral stance on handing out largesse to businesses, and was quite firm on the matter;

Handout Janus

And Eric Abetz clearly defined, well sort of, the terms of reference for the Workplace review, and as yet hasn’t provided a THREE WORD SLOGAN to simplify the complexity.  WORK CHOICES ASCENDANT might be appropriate;

Semantics Abetz

And Malcolm Fraudbull decided to commission another audit to justify Fraudband and ably assist all those unemployed auditors out there;

Prophet Fraudbull

And, finally, Tony Abbott admitted that, under all that wall-punching, hairy chested. Budgie smuggling machismo, he was, in reality – a feminist (and had been made so by his three daughters).  That revelation led to;

Feminist Abbott

One wonders what Tony would have become had he been the progenitor of three sons?  No! Let’s not go there!!

For some strange reason, known only to some weird neuronal wiring, thoughts of Tony being a feminist, Thatcherism, a country going backwards and paid parental leave led to;

Paid Parental Leave

And that, led to this;

Abbotts feminine side

And a severe headache!!  And there you have it!

Afterthought:  This NO Coalition Government is trashing the good standing of Australia.  It cares little about its people in its fanatical pursuit of ultra-conservative ideology.  It is using the weapons of minority xenophobia, the secret fears and uncertainty of the general public and blatant propaganda, aided by a complaisant media, to turn this country into something is has never been – bigoted, racist, xenophobic, selfish, self-indulgent, self-obsessed, uncaring and a disgrace to all those things that have made Australia a great country! Tolerance, mateship, community, fairness, honesty and a love of freedom in both speech and expression!

Postscript:  All characters appearing in this work are entirely, and amazingly, fictitious.  Any resemblance to real persons, living, dead or in a zombie like state, is purely coincidental with an exceptionally high probability of being the construct of a deluded mind trying to grasp the true meaning of the political unreality of Australian politics, al la NO Coalition!  We can only gaze upon such greatness with wonderment!

    Thank you Deknarf for yet another masterpiece. Much applause can be heard.

  2. Another sardonic masterpiece D. Keep ’em coming and tell The Rat to repeat after me; ‘Rupert Murdoch in not a “demented plutocrat”…Rupert Murdoch is…ahh…not a..ah..”demented plutocrat”..The relaxation of cross media ownership laws are a good thing… the relaxation of cross media ownership laws are a good thing…’
    Love ya work.
    M.T. :p)

      Thanks Edward. What is truly amazing is how gullible the public appears to be. Or is that complacent and uncaring. I suspect that complacency will be seriously disturbed at budget time when pretty well all the neo-con adventure will be revealed!

      • It’s going to be like that scene from John Boorman’s Deliverance; “Get down and squeal like a pig!’

        • deknarf says:

          And we are stuck with this NO Coalition for another two and a half years! By the time they’ve finished everything will be privatised, pensioners will be on a pittance and there’ll be no such thing as a living wage!

          • All too true, D. The best that we can hope for is that the backlash from the budget and poor polling may force the ‘back-room boys’ to replace Tony as leader in order to save their bacon at the next election – maybe! Either way, it’s going to be a rough ride. Christ! how did we get to this?
